Sr. Category Manager is responsible for managing cross-functional teams to manage all aspects of the e-Commerce business including business planning, content strategy and development, customer service etc.

• Research, analyse and identify the strategic business plan and roadmap for the E-commerce business

• Anchors all operational/strategic activities of the organization in accordance with policies, goals, and objectives established in consultation and maintain a sound plan of organizational structure, business imperatives and vision

• Develop and deliver the Category Wise Business Plan & entire P&L, consistent with the Financial KPIs - Sales, Stocks, Margin and Markdown Cost.

• Undertake macro -economic research, industry trend analysis, SWOT, competitive analysis, customer surveys, selling trends and patterns, new markets/geography/etc. and provide clear and actionable segmentation models about customers and potential markets

• Hire, grow and manage the team for Category, product, technology, content and operations for the business

• Assists the founders in the planning, development & achievement of the organizations goals through proper systems, procedure & policies in all respects. Evolve and establish standard operating policies and objectives and oversee proper implementation of the same

• Meet monthly revenue targets for the business

• Formulate & monitor key performance indicators, variances and results of implemented business strategies.

• Define the vision and strategy and ensure that the vision trickles down across all levels of the team

• Develop procedures to monitor and achieve the annual tactical plans

• Create, present and execute robust sales and corresponding operational plans demonstrating specific activities to bridge gaps to budget and forecast.

• Segment the revenue opportunities and approach them methodically

• Ensure customer service is top notch and is never compromised

• Provide data for analysis on what is working and what isn't across all categories e.g. Conversion rate analysis, etc.

• Generates ideas about future retail activities to ensure a cutting edge strategy; maintains up to date knowledge of the competitors and trends.


Desired Skills & Experience:

• MBA from a premier institute with 5-8 years of experience in a similar role in e-commerce/other related industry

• Proven leadership skills in building and managing large teams across functions

• Excellent analytical and negotiation skills are required

• Experience in driving operations through end to end planning, managing operations through metrics review and root cause analysis, and delivering results in a fast paced environment

• Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills

• Ability to translate strategies into execution plans and take them to completion

• Ability to roll up their sleeves and get work done

• Start -up experience would be an added advantage
